Here at Blame Mabel, in the Moorabool Valley, our wines are the co-stars, we offer wine tastings at our cellar door and platters to nibble on, and invite you to linger a while, longer than you probably planned. Sip, savour, watch the valley, and let everything slow down.

​We’re in the beautiful Moorabool Valley near Geelong, in Victoria. At our cellar door you'll find Riesling, Pinot Gris, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, we're in good company with award winning and diverse neighbouring vineyards. Our wines are exquisite and crafted with care.

Our vineyard sits on rich volcanic black clay over basaltic rocks, which is a fancy way of saying the soil is good for making beautifully perfumed wine. We’re one of the oldest vineyards in the region and the first in Victoria to have accommodation on site. That means you can stay, play, and tell your stories without ever needing to leave.
We like to keep the land happy. Grass grows where it wants. Bugs buzz where they like. Birds and bees are reintroduced with plants we’ve chosen just for them. It’s all part of letting nature and vines do their thing, which, funnily enough, makes the wine taste even better.

So wander the vines, throw the ball for me, play a game, sip slowly, or just sit back with a platter. Every visit is a little pause in the day.

the land and the vineyard
We've partnered with our neighbours, Steve and Lily of Hillside Haven Wines in the heart of the Moorabool Valley, Victoria, to bring an even betterer experience at Blame Mabel. You'll find their beautiful wines at our cellar door happily sitting alongside our own cool climate premium wines.
If you're lucky, you might even spot Steve, part time sheep wrangler, out on the property, with sheep in tow. If you see the sheep in the vines, please undertake a community service and help shoo them away.
Our vineyard has deep roots, literally. The vines were inspired by the Bordeaux Wine Region of France. Initially there was Riesling, Malbec, Semillon, Chardonnay Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot. The Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Merlot had seen better days and couldn’t be saved. There were tears!
We’re slowly bringing it back to life, with Riesling and the Malbec leading the revival. In 2025, we swapped out the Cabernet Sauvignon for Pinot Noir on drought tolerant rootstock, leaning into the changing climate and chasing a future that tastes just as good as the past.
